The self-titled album is out May 19 and includes guest spots from Big Sean, Amaarae, Snoop Dogg, and Freddie Gibbs, as well as Pharrell Williams, who’s on the project’s lead single, “ 4eva. KAYTRANADA and Aminé are getting ready to take over the summer with their forthcoming joint project.Cleverly titled Kaytraminé, the LP is set to make landfall next Friday (May 19) and their first single, “4EVA,” debuted back in April. I know that sounds too good to be true, but I can really float through this project without feeling the urge to bounce around the tracklist.

Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. But there are tonal shifts that seem designed to showcase Aminé’s range as a singer and a rapper, like the strings swirling around his stop-and-go flow on “Westside” or the sparse arrangement of the latest entry in his series of “ STFU” tracks. Although a majority of his creations are largely influenced by dance music, KAYTRANADA is a natural when it comes to collaborating with rappers. Pharrell adds a sprinkle of his ageless pop perfection to lead single “4EVA,” contributing both the hook and co-production, and Amaarae manages to match Aminé’s smooth-singing dick-swinging in her own high register on “Sossaup. It was released on May 19, 2023, by CLBN, Kaytranada, and Venice Music, and features guest musicians Big Sean, Amaarae, Snoop Dogg, Freddie Gibbs, and Pharrell Williams.
