About this deal

AproDerm Emollient Cream is slightly richer than AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream, however, is still light and easily absorbed, whilst being cooling and moisturising. It can also be used as an effective soap substitute, to prevent the skin from drying out further. Remind patient of risks of spray formulation. Clothing and bedding with emollient products dried onto them can be easily ignited with a naked flame. Inadvertent spraying on floor surfaces could lead to slips. The BNF states that barrier creams are not a substitute for adequate nursing care, or regular nappy changing (babies), and it is doubtful that they are any more effective than the traditional compound zinc ointments.
