About this deal

Michael Kitchen, James Cosmo, Ed Devereaux, Billy Murray, Barbara Kellerman, Forbes Collins, Sean Caffrey, Keith Marsh

The whole series was broadcast after 1994 on TV Nova. Petr Oliva continued to dub Bodie but Doyle was dubbed by Karel Heřmánek and Cowley by Otakar Brousek Sr., since Adamíra had died. But there's a very nice twist towards the end of the story and a smart - and funny - conclusion at the final showdown with Rahad. Just a pity that the final scene is a first-season-style cheesey ending! A breakaway group from a criminal gang wants to start a street war, but its leader has other ideas.

Clemens' and Fennell's earlier production loved to satirise popular culture and we see a touch of this with the motel scenes clearly "inspired by" The Thomas Crown Affair. An American delegate is saved by Cowley when shots are seemingly fired at him, but no further attempt is made to kill him before he departs the country. CI5 is aware of the presence of a hitman called Ramos, and predicts a second assassination attempt. Terringham: "Clare asked some rather awkward questions about that chap of yours - Bodie is it? Wonders if you've been feeding him too much red meat!" And the overall storytelling is full of plot holes, too. For example it's never explained why the KGB agent suspects Doyle of being an infiltrator - nor why he does NOT think the same of Bodie. And it seems a bit too convenient that Williams hides himself in the car, petrified by the thought of having to assassinate somebody. In the popular TV comedy series The Two Ronnies, Ronnie Corbett played a bungling version of Martin Shaw's Doyle in a sketch called Tinker Tailor Smiley Doyle (Series 11; broadcast February 1985 – March 1985). This was a joint send-up of The Professionals and the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy TV drama, with Ronnie Barker playing George Smiley along the lines of Alec Guinness' portrayal in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Corbett's Doyle provides the brawn to the brains of Barker's Smiley and actually comes out the worse. The sketch guest-starred Frank Williams from Dad's Army.

A terrorist group kills a CIA agent working in London. CI5 tries to set up a fake arms deal with the group. John Junkin was primarily a comedy writer and performer - particularly for BBC radio. But as that probably didn't pay very well, he had an occasional foray into acting and popped up in the most unexpected places and roles. Recently seen in EastEnders. Passed away in 2006. Ronald Hines, Michael Craig, Lynda La Plante (billed as Lynda Marchal), Sue Nicholls, Ian Redford, Nigel Humphreys, John Joyce, Charles Pemberton, Christopher Saul

In 2011, film company Lionsgate announced it had acquired the rights to The Professionals series and intended to begin shooting a movie in 2011. The characters of Bodie, Doyle and Cowley would be played by new actors.

Annuals". tonystrading.co.uk. Archived from the original on 4 March 2016 . Retrieved 16 September 2013. Rahad: "No, no, Mr Cowley - this may concern you. I have to register the strongest complaint about the fact that I am being followed." A reporter has a scoop on a new fighter aircraft being a deathtrap, and when this knowledge is discovered, becomes the target of several countries' officials. Marilyn Galsworthy (the fake Anna) was previously eaten by a shark (!) in The Spy Who Loved Me. Also starred in Danger: UXB, a popular 1979 TV series examining the role of bomb-disposal officers in World War II. Haven't seen her since! Some quarters of the British press seized on these aspects to insist that the programme was moronic and "comic-strip". However, reaction from other critics, including The Times and The Daily Telegraph newspapers, was more favourable. [ citation needed]

A socialist preacher, an old flame of Cowley, becomes a target when she visits London. Bodie and Doyle are set to protect her, without realising who attempts to have her killed. In the target practice scene, the first victim's head gets blown off before Doyle has pulled the trigger. Rahad enters: "Ah, Sir John, I am sorry I had to insist on seeing you - it is a matter of the greatest urgency." Despite this being more of a Bodie episode, there's still time for some good in-car banter between the boys, and it all builds to a suspenseful and satisfying climax. Paul Daneman (Dawson) had minor roles in classics Zulu and Oh! What a Lovely War. Perhaps best known for the mid-1970s espionage series Spy Trap. Last seen in Alan Bleasedale's GBH. Passed away in 2001.

A criminal gang leader is in hiding, and his family are threatened. He offers to surrender himself if CI5 protects his family and flushes out the person threatening them. Minister: "You must try to master Whitehall jargon. I'll expect your reports on how you plan to implement them within a week." Former secret service agent Quinn is on the run from an asylum, deranged by years of torture by the KGB. He seeks revenge by killing his former SIS comrades. Don't try this at home, kiddies! Cowley: "It had to be Rahad, Sir John - it was his style. And the cop remembers him leaving the embassy just about that time."
